The term alge introduced by linaus in 1753. * The plant body of alge differentiated into leaf stem and root. * The plant body is thalus like structure. * The plant body may be unicellular or multicellular. *Almost all the alge aquatic in nature. * They contains chlrophill pigment. * The sex organ is unicellular and non jacketed. * Water is not needed for fertilization. * No embryo formation takes place. * They autotrophic mode of neutration. *Eg- Nostoc, volvox,ectocatcus etc 

* viruces are submicroscopic organism. * They are less than 200mm. * They have no protoplasm. * They can pass through bacterial filter. * They are obligate particle. * They have no norvous system and respiratory system.
